Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira nace en Santiago de Chile en 1973
Desde el inicio de mi carrera, he centrado mi trabajo investigativo y creativo en las temáticas de identidad, memoria, sistemas de control y la migración actual, todas problemáticas de gran vigencia y relevancia en el mundo contemporáneo que me ha tocado habitar. Gran parte de mi trabajo se ha desarrollado a partir de investigaciones situadas, asociadas con otros profesionales de distintos ámbitos, desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar, exploraciones a través de las cuales he construido relatos poéticos y políticos.
En los últimos años he trabajado sobre dos series de investigación:
Una es la serie –Trazo Mutable – donde las obras se construyen a través de un laboratorio nómade que cartografía territorios y recoge historias de personas marcadas por la migración a través de entrevistas, donde el microrrelato y el testimonio directo, son el punto de partida para desarrollar cada obra.
La segunda es la serie – Proyecto ADN – , donde he trabajado sobre el llamado “perfil genético”, el patrón de fragmentos cortos de ADN que ordenados dan la identidad de un ser vivo, en una combinación irrepetible. Esta investigación nos habla sobre la búsqueda de identidades desaparecidas pero también sobre especies de la flora que están por extinguirse”.

PROYECTO ADN I – 2012

Installation, variable measures.33 sculptural fountains made with resin, bones, fluorescent tubes and electrical circuits. Each piece acts as a detached fragment of the DNA chain, which harmonically suspended and reflected in the water, make up a scene that aims to point out concepts related to life and death, love and hate, pleasure and pain, which they intensify with the tension between electricity and water.

504 fragments of human bones intervened with led lights hanging from the ceiling, room flooded with 25 cm water. deep that acts as a water mirror, a water pump that makes the water vibrate gently.
The shape of the floating and illuminated bones represents the molecular structure of DNA.

Video (HD, sound, loop 9’11 «) + Projection on a water mirror with electromagnetic mechanism depending on the audio, 4 x 2.5 mt.
Installation composed of a video and a water mirror that vibrates with an electromagnetic mechanism based on the audio of the story of Azis Faye, an immigrant from Senegal, West Africa, who arrives illegally in the city of Barcelona, Spain, after four attempts, crossing the ocean in a patera (small barge).

Action, in which the artist takes off and washes 31 garments donated by immigrants living in Santiago de Chile in chlorine. In the drying process, the garments fade while they are expose in the exhibition.
Marseille – 2009;
In the courtyard of the Center, 9 pieces of clothing belonging to people from the countries of the African continent and the Middle East, immigrants living in Marseille, France, were mounted. The action consisted of taking off each garment and then being washed by the artist with pure chlorine, discoloring during the inauguration.
